Winter Jam was absolutely amazing. Especially Skillet. They rocked the house. It was awesome. Oh my gosh.

First of all, I missed For King & Country because we were still trying to find seats during the PreJam party. I was disappointed. But on the brighter side, we had gotten really good seats where I would have an amazing view of Korey Cooper and (le hero) Jen Ledger.

Group 1 Crew opened up first and got the house pumped up. Then came Building 429. Love those guys. After that I went and bought For King & Country's newest album "Crave" at their merch stand, then I raced over to Skillet's and got a black silicone bracelet with their logo on it. Then I went back to sit down and Newsong was on. After that was Kari Jobe, and I got up halfway during her performance to get something to eat. After her was Peter Furler and I jammed to old-school Newsboys songs. Then it was Sanctus Real.

Then after them, during the intermission, my Skillet buddy Kelah and I were going completely bonkers because Skillet was next and we couldn't contain ourselves. Then the announcer dude went, "Give it up for SKILLET!!" and we jumped up and screamed.

The house lights went completely dark, and there was some sort of monster-voiced track on but I couldn't hear it that well because everyone was going crazy. Then the spotlight fell on Tate Olsen, their cellist, and Jonathan Chu, their violinist, making their way up to the stage. That's when most of my screaming began. I love those guys.

They played the melody line of Whispers In The Dark, and then the pyro started blasting behind the black curtain. Tate and Chu kept at it, and then the house lights went dark again. Then the curtains dropped.

And another blast of pyro and they were on. I was screaming my lungs out. The first thing I saw was Jen Ledger killing her drums and headbanging like a madwoman, and Korey wearing a really cute white dress with leggings and a sparkly white masquerade mask, rocking on her guitar. I could see Seth Morrison shredding his guitar and headbanging, and then the man John L. Cooper himself jumping off an amp and murdering his bass while headbanging. It was all too amazing.

Their opening song was Whispers In The Dark (in which I burst out crying), and Comatose followed after that. I forget the order of songs after that, but that night they also played Those Nights, Hero, Monster, The Last Night, Lucy, Awake & Alive, and Rebirthing (which was their finale).

Before they played Hero, Jen's drum podium got moved to the front and started rotating during the song. Seth and Korey were on these stands that moved up and down and lit up. For Monster, John got into this contraption that had a monster face and its eyes and mouth lit up. There was pyro throughout every song and it was just wickedly epic and awesome and amazing.

I took a lot of photos with my Kodak Coolpix L120 that I'll be uploading later in a separate post. I took a lot of wicked photos of Jen and Korey.

It was all in all an outstanding night and the best concert I've ever been to. I love Skillet so much. I'm so glad I got to see them at Winter Jam.

I pray that one day I'll get to see them again, and meet them too. :)

I'm SO excited.

There's a bunch of people I don't know who are in the lineup, of the opening bands I only know Building429, Group 1 Crew, Sanctus Real, and For King and Country (which I LOVE).

Last night I dreamed I was Katniss and I was in the Quarter Quell. Johanna Mason had just finished ripping the tracker out of my arm with her knife, and I could hear Peeta calling somewhere in the distance. And then I was beginning to black out, and the claw came down and picked me up and brought me into the helicopter. And then I woke up and I was like, "Whoah."
Oh and I've been reading the first book to my mom. I think she likes it.

Before I go on to anything, I must first apologize for leaving my blog for such a long time. School's taken over my schedule which gives me very limited computer time. But I'm back and I'll try to post regularly like I did before.

Now. As of recently, I've finished reading a trilogy of books called The Hunger Games.

Maybe you've read them too. And maybe you're as obsessed with them as I am.

A few months back, one of my school companions recommended the books to me, and at first I was like, "a book about teens fighting to the death? Ew. No." But gradually a bunch of my friends read them and apparently fell in love with them, and I was hearing so much about them that eventually I was like "okay FINE. I'm just going to read the first one and see what this is all about." So I borrowed the first one from one of my best friends and I started reading it that night.

I stayed up til about 2 AM reading that night.

It. Was. So Good. I loved the plot and the characters and everything about it, and it's one of those books you can't help but devour. I loved every inch of it. As soon as I was done with the first book, I went on a Hunger Games rampage. I watched the trailer of the amazing movie based on the books that's coming out March 23. (By the way, I really can't wait for the movie.)

I ended up getting a Kindle Fire for Christmas and immediately downloaded all three books. I proceeded to read the next two, and was just as captivated as I was by the first one. It's an amazing series, and the author, Suzanne Collins, is just as amazing. I love her writing style and how she describes everything the characters are seeing and feeling so perfectly, you can almost feel it yourself.

As for the whole "Team Gale or Team Peeta" deal, I didn't like it at first since it was being like Twilight, but I couldn't help but go along with it in the end. And I'm Team Peeta. As Katniss says in Mockingjay...

"...what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of destruction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that."

Josh Hutcherson is going to make a KICKBUTT Peeta. I've always really liked Josh Hutcherson as an actor. He's really, really cute. Yupp. And Alexander Ludwig, who's playing Cato? Just watch, when I see the movie I'm going to be like "NO!!! DON'T KILL HIM!!!! HE'S HOT!!!" But ohwells.

Oh and recently I went to TheCapitol.Pn to find out what district I'm in. According to them, I'm District 5, whose industry is Power.

I might post a lot of more posts in the future just raving about the Hunger Games...so keep a lookout. And I'm most likely going to spoil the story a lot, so just go ahead and read the books now so I don't spoil anything for you.

Hey readers! I'm back! For one post, haha. I've been uber-busy lately with school and all. Sophomore year is crazy. I get up at 6 every morning and do school til about noonish, then I have to grab my stuff and head to the school for 7th period choir and then cross country. Then I come home, shower and eat a quick dinner, and then spend the evening on more school assignments. Sounds fun being me, right?:P But I'm managing. It just takes some time to get used to the schedule, I guess.

Well as I've mentioned before, THIS SUNDAY will be my first Sunday playing the drums in the youth group praise band! All I've done is just keyboard up until now. We're doing three songs, one of which is "Like A Lion" by David Crowder Band. I only heard this song for the first time on Thursday and I'm still kinda figuring it out. It's a really fun song to play, though. Therefore, it's the song of the week.

Hey everyone! Well, I officially start school tomorrow. If you don't already know, I'm with a homeschool group called Classial Conversations where I have a tutor and a few other classmates, and we meet once a week to discuss the week's work and recieve our assignments. My class in Classical Conversation is called Challenge 2, which is sophomores. This year I'll be taking Algebra 2, Western Cultural History, Debate, Latin, Biology, Logic, and British Literature. Aside from that, I'll be taking choir and cross country at the local Christian school on the same campus as my church. I'll also be continuing piano lessons every Friday, karate on Tuesday nights, Spirit Song on Sundays, I believe, and youth group on Wednesday nights and Sunday mornings. So this year will be busy! But I'm also excited about it.

Running in the rain.

There's the classic singing in the rain, and there's also the occasional dancing in the rain. Then there's running in the rain. No, I don't mean the crazy running to a shelter when you feel a raindrop hit your head- I mean legit cross country running in the rain.

Ever tried it? It's amazing. I, for one, LOVE rain (on the days I don't have my hair straightened, lol), and feeling the freshness of the sky's water on my skin. Today at cross country, the whole group was jogging when it started to downpour. In light of this, I slowed my pace down to a walk and took my sweet time enjoying the rain. Soon I picked up a faster jog and ran in the rain.

I really loved it and I wish all cross country practices were like this. The sun can be pretty harsh, but today I really appreciated the rain and it's coolness.

Please remember to appreciate rain. It's one of God's most gorgeous creations for both nature...and man.

Hey y'all! I got back from StudentLife camp last Friday and my uncle, aunt, and cousins are here too! I've been so uber-busy lately that I didn't get to check emails til last night- I had 42 unread emails!! :P

While at camp, 2 major events happened in music news. First, Action Item came out with their new single, "Learn To Fly", and their amazing music video! Watch it!! I've watched it so many times in a row, I'm so proud of them :') haha.

And second....... Greyson Chance's first full-length album, "Hold On Til The Night", is now in stores as of August 2!!!! :D :D :D :D

I can't wait to buy it. Omigosh it's so exciting!!!! I've been a fan of this kid since "Paparazzi". He's so talented and his music is amazing!! If you haven't already checked out Greyson Chance's music, please take the time and do so...NOW. ;D

Tomorrow I leave at 7:00 AM with my awesome youth group to StudentLife Camp!!! I'm SOOOOOOO excited. But also a bit sad since it's my last summer activity, since school starts next Tuesday. :(( My summer is coming to an end!!!! TT~TT But a good end. StudentLife Camp is awesome. This is my second year going and I can't wait!!! AHHH!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

So right now in a few minutes, I'm off to help my karate teacher with karate summer camp. Excited about that, since I'm a black belt now, hehe:) Tonight I have youth group and everyone is going to Dairy Queen right after the service. Then tomorrow I'm going to try getting up early so I can make it to cross country, then I have my first night of Solid Rock karate in the evening!!! For Solid Rock, I'm doing karate and Spirit Song (ensemble) this year. I love drama, but I want to try other things too. I might do drama next year. I'm going to miss drama, but I'm also excited about karate and Spirit Song. :)
